Battery Wh ≈ load W × backup hours ÷ efficiency. Panel estimate ≈ daily replacement Wh ÷ peak-sun-hours ÷ 0.8. Motor/compressor surge, battery chemistry, BMS limits, inverter surge rating and local design rules can require larger equipment. This is planning guidance, not an electrical installation design.
Net metering note
Bangladesh's SREDA Net Metering Guideline 2025 covers grid-connected rooftop solar and bidirectional metering. A backup IPS/off-grid battery system is a different design problem, so do not treat net-metering sizing and outage-backup sizing as the same calculation.
